Mainland Poke Shop not only offers you delicious flavors from Hawaii, it also is a great place to get a taste of some of the freshest fish around. If you haven’t tried it yet, poke is a traditional Hawaiian meal where bite size pieces of raw fish are marinated in soy sauce and served in a bowl with a base such as rice – think the Hawaiian version of a teriyaki bowl. Traditional fish options include ahi tuna, salmon and octopus. Mainland Poke Shop also uses farm fresh produce and all the sauces are made in house. Mainland Poke Shop is located at 8318 W. Third St. For menu options visit www.mainlandpoke.com

The name Stir Market should give you some clue about what to expect at this establishment. Drawing from a European boutique food hall, the market offers a number of different dining options all of which offer culinary experiences that are locally inspired. Choose from counter options such as sandwiches and seasonal salads or slow down and head over to the sit down dining options that offer full service entrees. If you aren’t really sure what you’re in the mood for but you know you want it to be healthy head over to 7475 Beverly Blvd, Los Angeles and stop at stir Market. Visit www.stirmarket.com for more information.

Cafe Vida is a good option for someone who might just be entering the healthy food world. You want to be healthy but can’t quite give up the taste of some of your favorite comfort foods? Cafe Vida has you covered. Here, feel free to order the blueberry pancakes, they’re so good you won’t even notice that they are made from organic brown rice. The salads are hearty served up with Brazilian chicken or steak and round out your meal with a glass of fresh squeezed vegetable juice or smoothies. With three locations throughout Los Angeles they make it easy to eat healthy on the go! Visit www.cafevida.net for menu.
